Prince William recalls ‘happiest and saddest memories’ as he remembers Diana in Scotland | Royal | News

William’s week-long visit to Scotland began on Friday and Kate will join him on Monday for the rest of the tour.

Ahead of the trip, he said: “As we try to emerge from a long period of uncertainty and turmoil, I am grateful for the chance I will get this week to really listen, with humility and compassion, to many people in Scotland, from all walks of life, from different traditions, and from all faiths, and none.”

William’s mention of his mother Diana cames the day after Lord Dyson’s investigation into Martin Bashir’s 1995 BBC Panorama interview was published.

The probe threw up systematic failings on the part of the BBC who rehired Bashir despite evidence he showed Diana forged bank documents.
