Gucci is teaming up with The North Face for a clothing collaboration that celebrates adventure in the great outdoors. The Italian luxury giant teased its upcoming collection with the American outdoor recreation company in a short fashion film that follows a group of stylish hikers who set up a camp site by a lake. This will be Gucci’s first collaboration with another clothing brand, and its first attempt at designing technical wear.
The North Face is becoming more premium, with previous collaborators including MM6 Maison Margiela, Junya Watanabe, and streetwear brands like Supreme and Brain Dead. Gucci will be the largest luxury brand to collaborate with The North Face, and described their new project as a celebration of the rich heritage of both brands, according to WWD.
The North Face x Gucci will include a special cross-category of ready-to-wear pieces for women and men, soft accessories, luggage, shoes, sleeping bags, and tents. Part of the collection will be produced using archival prints from The North Face and Econyl regenerated materials, as part of each brand’s continued commitment to ecosustainable practices. Although the debut date of the collection is yet to be released, a limited selection of pieces will be available online with some online exclusive pieces as well. Look ahead for a closer look at The North Face x Gucci, and watch this space for updates on the anticipated launch.
